Before I moved here, the only thing I knew about mushrooms was that you could buy them packed at the supermarket. Now a whole new world has opened up as here in Catalonia you can go almost anywhere and collect them. I love walking between the pine, oak and beech trees etc., and scrounger around looking to see if I can find a mushroom. But I must also say, that just walking in nature and seeing all it beauty is just as pleasing, so I don't mind if I don't see any.
Slowly I’m getting quite the “expert” and starting to recognise which ones are edible but especially, which ones are poisonous.
And as I enjoy it so much, I have decided to do a series of the most common ones, starting with chanterelles.
I have used watercolours first and then worked over it with coloured pencil.

I feel satisfied with how it has turned out and that makes me feel quite confident to continue onto the next one, which I will post once I’ve finished it.
And I would love to know what you think, so don’t forget to comment!!
