PURPLE FLOWERS ON YOU FEET

In my previous post I showed you some canvas shoes with zentangles that I made for a boy, so today I wanted to show that you can also make some really cool ones for girls. But in this time I used decoupage instead of hand painting them.

As you can see, first, I painted the background in a mustard yellow with acrylic paint mixed with a medium for fabric, then on top of this, I did the decoupage. Then, over the decoupage I painted some areas in purple, mustard yellow and brown.

They have been protected with two coats of flexible matte varnish. so that they will bend easily when walking. The varnish not only protects the decoupage, but also makes them quite waterproof but I don´t think it would be a good idea to go jumping into puddles with them on!!

The result is a big change to a pair of white sneakers, that I particularly like how they have turned out, especially because they are purple (my favourite colour)!!
